How To Apply Two Gradients Photoshop

Photoshop: More than than ane slope in a layer mask

Photoshop: More than than i gradient in a layer mask

Hi,

I apply cs2 and cs3 and I never figured how to have more than one gradient on ane layer mask.

Thanks

Re: Photoshop: More than i gradient in a layer mask

An easy mode for max of ii gradiant masks is to create a layer group and put your adjustment layer in the group. So you can put one mask on the aligning layer and one mask on the group. You might be able to get more than than two by nesting layer groups withing layer groups, simply I have non tried that.

For more than two gradient masks, the only way I've found is to create equally many alpha channel as you need, put your gradient masks in the channels, then repeatedly "load selection" using the "add to"or "subtract from" options.

Make sure your gradient is fix to foreground to transparent not foreground to background. Y'all can have as many as yous like.

Hello Andrew,

Where do you make this setting change?

The but options that I can see in my gradient pallet is reverse, dither & transparency. Can yous bespeak me in the right direction delight.

Until now I have been adding 1 gradiant to multiple adjustment layers. Didn't realise I could add multiple gradiants to 1 adjustment layer.

Cheers
Allan

Beside what Andrew wrote you can besides utilise black to white in mode multiply. You tin can aslo create them one at a time an salvage them by switching to the channels pallet and copying the layer mask to a new alpha aqueduct. Go dorsum to layers pallet and create the adjacent ane you desire to add. Repeat till you have created the gradients you desire to combine in blastoff channels. And so combine the saved alpha channels 2 at a fourth dimension using menu Image> Calculations fashion multiply.

Multiply

Later on choosing the gradient tool, set the mode selection at the top to multiply. Now you lot can run as many gradients as you lot desire in the aforementioned mask.

Re: Andrew

1. Activate the Gradient Tool in the Tool Palette

two. In the Options bar (immediately beneath the carte du jour), click on the arrow of the drop-down window on the left side to open the Gradient Picker.

3. The second slope from the left in the first row is the Foreground to Transparent gradient; click it to select.

Re: Andrew

The outset pull-downward in the options bar for the gradient tool is the slope menu if you don't see a foreground to transparent reset the gradients using the wing-out men icon in the upper correct corner in the pallet menu pull-down. You can too double click on the slope in the pull downwards carte du jour window. The will open the gradient editor and you can create gradients that have transparency. It the transparency the lets you combine gradients.

For instance Transparent Stripes Gradient

Used on 2 diagonals on the Layer mask

multiply...

Lets say you kickoff with a white mask, go from one side with a black to white gradient in multiply. What happens if y'all want to remove some of the middle of that border with a white radial gradient?
If you lot use foreground to transparent its as easy as pressing "x".

Re: Andrew

Fasinating to see how many people accept worked out a complicated way that requires more understanding than the simple way.
I've exported a page out of my class guide, its at the bottom:
